The flower itself was said to be used by the Native Americans to heal bruises, sore throats, and other minor skin conditions centuries ago. The oil from the evening primrose can be found in the plant's seeds and contains high amounts of omega-6 essential fatty acid, GLA (gamma-linolenic acid) that the body is unable to produce naturally. Omega-6 fatty acids help stimulate the growth of skin and hair cells, regulate metabolic functions, support bone health, and maintain the reproductive system.
